WHITE WARATAH
ABOUT THE ARTIST
The Wirrimbirra speciosissima sits
comfortably in stately elegance.
The budding process feels like spring and the promise of warmth.
This blossom commands attention and yet has a sense of quiet
belonging. The use of pastels on sanded paper enabled me to tease
out the creamy softness, accentuating the beauty of this
compelling blossom.
Pastels, having been used for centuries, have a permanency similar to
that of oils.
I have painted all my life and currently exhibit through Art and Soul
Collective Inc. and North Shore Art Society.
I am mostly self-taught and paint nature, especially local flora,
reflecting my connection with the Australian bush.
