The hall - Early morning rehearsals
Wind Ensemble and the Symphonic Wind Orchestra rehearsals
The school hall is constantly in use, and it can be difficult for the various school bands to manage their early morning rehearsals around all the other user groups, particularly at this busy time of year. In fact, while the bands were next to the stage rehearsing, a group of dancers were running through their own dance routines in silence, and they only put their own music on after the band rehearsals were over. Yet manage is what everyone does in a highly utilised space that doesn't quite meet the design and size needs of the school. However, parents who dropped off students to rehearsals on Thursday and Friday mornings were able to take in the visual feast, glimpse performance rehearsals and listen to the musical rehearsals at the same time.
THE CURATORS
Art 61 was fortunate to have the services of two local artists who donated their precious time and expertise to bring the many individual artworks into a beautiful visual display. These ladies are Kere Maree Baker and Monica Clonda. Both are strong, creative women that have established themselves as professional local artists with the visual processing skills afforded only very few. And yet both also manage small businesses of their own. Look them up when you need to hire a curator for any art exhibition (2D or 3D) that you may be planning.

The Soiree
The Soiree came all too soon, the social event that would see the close of the exhibition. Michelle de Vries Robbe took on the role of MC while Mr Rudd was on hand all evening mingling with guests and enjoying the work of the school community. A wonderful atmosphere was established by the school's own senior jazz ensemble, the Jazz Combo, featuring Josh Willard as guest director for the evening. Below are some images from the night.
